Description
Made from a 6.5oz cotton flannel brushed on both faces, so it is soft against the skin on the inside and holds a matte, dry surface on the outside. The check is yarn-dyed rather than printed, which means the pattern runs through the cloth and will not wash out grey. Plackets and the yoke are pattern-matched, and there is a box pleat at the centre back for room across the shoulders.
The most useful thing about it is that it does three jobs. Belted on its own it reads as a dress; unbuttoned over leggings and a long-sleeve it is a layer; and the side seams are split high enough to sit down in without it riding. Buttons are corozo and there are two spares stitched inside the lower placket.

Bought for my partner and it has been in rotation constantly. Dropped shoulder means it layers over a chunky knit without pulling.

This has become the thing I put on when it is too cold for anything else and I still have to leave the house. The flannel is genuinely soft on both sides. Spare buttons sewn inside the hem is such a small, sensible thing.

Great weight of flannel and the check is properly matched at the front placket, which you do not always get. The belt is a bit thin for my liking so I swapped in a leather one.
