Description
10oz waxed cotton upper over a padded cotton drill lining, stitched to a gum rubber cupsole. The wax finish sheds a light rain and takes on a used, slightly creased look within a month, which is the intended outcome. Flat waxed cotton laces, metal eyelets, no branding on the outside.
These are for October and April. Comfortable straight away, with no break-in worth mentioning. The heel counter is stiffened with leather rather than plastic, so it holds its shape as the canvas softens instead of collapsing inward. Runs true to size with a standard sock.
Specification
- Upper: 10oz waxed cotton canvas
- Lining: cotton drill
- Sole: gum rubber cupsole

Care
Spot clean with cold water and a soft brush. Do not machine wash, which strips the wax. Re-wax worn areas with a canvas wax bar.

Wore them straight out of the box for a full day of walking with no issues at all. They have creased in nicely across the toe. Rain beads off them, though I would not stand in a puddle.

Good looking shoe and the gum sole grips wet pavement better than I expected. Only note is that the canvas picks up dirt around the toe box and it does not fully brush off.
