Description
Knitted from 250gsm 18.5 micron merino with a small nylon core through the yarn, which roughly doubles the abrasion life without changing the hand. Merino handles a long day better than synthetic because it does not start to smell after the second wear, so this is the top that comes on multi-day trips. Seams are offset off the shoulder line to sit clear of pack straps.
The zip runs deep enough to dump heat quickly on a climb, with a chin guard behind the slider so the metal never touches your neck. Cuffs have thumbholes, and the body is cut 5cm longer than a standard top so it stays tucked when you reach overhead.

Care
Machine wash cool on a wool cycle and dry flat. Merino needs washing far less often than synthetic; airing it overnight is usually enough.

Four days on the trail without washing it and it was still fine to be around other people. The offset shoulder seams are noticeable under a loaded pack, no hot spots at all.

Good weight of merino and the deep zip is the right length. Thumbholes are a little tight over larger hands but they loosen up.
